CLAD Couple

Saranya & Bhargav

What made you choose CLAD and what was your favorite part of the CLAD process?

I chose CLAD because of Tanya. After seeing photos of Tanya’s amazing wedding outfits, I knew I wanted a similar vibe. Her sense of style for the wedding was minimal, elegant, yet glam. My favorite part of the CLAD process was FaceTime calls with Tanya and Deepa. We would spend hours getting to know each other, brainstorming looks, and talking about fashion. Deepa was so helpful in selecting jewelry for me. I didn’t have to see photos or videos of anything, I completely trusted Tanya and Deepa.

How was your experience working with Tanya?

I mean what would I do without Tanya? I would have spent hours spinning my wheels, trying to figure out what each of my look was going to be, and then start shopping online. This was far from ideal for me, especially because of the busy lives we all lead. Working with Tanya felt as if I was having my sister help me with the wedding. It was so easy to get to know Tanya, and her and Deepa really felt like family to me.

Having someone style your wedding looks, the groom’s looks, and your family’s looks is amazing. It is key to staying relaxed in the wedding planning process. You don’t need to worry about each designer’s shipping dates and reviewing all of the small details. I told Tanya which designer’s clothes I always dreamt about wearing, and then reviewed options with each designer. Once we honed in on our joint vision, Tanya took care of everything, and I mean everything.

What was your virtual experience like with designers, especially Faraz and e-meeting Anamika?

Amazing! I absolutely loved e-meeting Anamika. She was so down to earth, and I can tell she had a vision with the backdrop of the beach for my wedding. It was such a collaborative conversation and I left it to Anamika to work her magic. And the result was an absolutely stunning lehenga.

I have always wanted to wear Faraz’s clothes, and it was so easy to work with Faraz and team. They focus on little details and making sure the fit suits you and then fits you like a glove. Their guidance was so helpful and my reception outfit was like something I have never worn before.

Meeting Anamika, Arpita, and Kunal was a dream come true. I am so thankful for the experience, thanks to Tanya.

Can you tell us about your favorite outfits and jewelry and why you loved them?

This is a really tough question, because I loved every outfit that Tanya and I picked out. I have to say Anamika’s lehenga was the most special because I wore it during the wedding ceremony. Walking down the aisle, holding my dad’s hands, with the most beautifully created lehenga, is a moment I will never forget. The jewelry set from Bharatsons jewelers which Deepa chose for me, was perfect with the outfit.

My Rahul Mishra lehenga was so unique and we drew inspiration from a previous lehenga he created- it was a gorgeous blue lehenga with daises. I am thankful to Vinu who sent me his new collection, and I remember immediately texting Tanya and asking “Rahul Mishra for a wedding outfit?”

Arpita wore a hot pink lehenga, styled it in many ways, and I was in love with the lehenga. We drew inspiration from her looks and told her this is exact lehenga I wanted. She created a sharara to make the look different than the others looks we already had. The hot pink in the all white Viceroy property, really was a beautiful look.

I have always wanted to wear Sabya. My Sabya lehenga, ruffle sari, and kaftan were beautiful. When Masaba modeled the Sabya lehenga, I knew I had to wear it for one of the wedding events. We drew inspiration from Tanya’s Diwali photos when she wore the ruffle sari. She looked so elegant!

I have been dying to wear Faraz, and when Tanya suggested it for the reception, I knew there was no question. It was such a luxurious fit, and it was so stylish. The work on the lehenga is so intricate, and I loved that it was an indo-western look.

Can you tell me a little about your personal style and what you wanted to achieve style wise with the wedding?

When I first started thinking about getting married, I immediately started thinking about outfits. My mom has always had great style, and she always jokes that she dresses better than me. She is completely right. Every look was approved by mom and Tanya’s mom, which was so special for me. My style is simple and sometimes elegant (haha!), which is exactly why Tanya and I saw eye to eye on every look. I wanted each look to be different, the colors to be different, and to compliment the vibe of the different events. We did it Tanya!

How was your groom styling experience with CLAD?

My styling experience was fantastic. Tanya presented me with great options based on my feedback and gave me the freedom to select the pieces that I felt were the best for me.

How did the outfits reflect your sense of style?

The outfits reflected my personal sense of style – simple but elegant. Tanya gave me outfit options that fit my personality and they were a hit!
